When it comes to romance, no one can beat the tragic climax of ’Casablanca’, which has topped a new CNN poll of cinema’s Most Romantic Moments.
Humphrey Bogart’s farewell to Ingrid Bergman beat out Virginia Cherrill and Charlie Chaplin’s love scene in 1931’s City Lights, which claimed the second position in the list.
At the third spot was Audrey Hepburn and Gregory Peck’s playful scene at the Mouth of Truth in ’Roman Holiday’.
"Nobody ever kissed me the way you do," Army sergeant Burt Lancaster and troubled wife Deborah Kerr finding refuge in their torrid, adulterous affair in ’From Here to Eternity’ was positioned at the fourth spot.
Rounding up at the fifth position was the scene from the French classic ’Amelie’ showing Audrey Tautou and Mathieu Kassovitz, zooming on the streetsof Paris on a bicycle.
